The Town of Summerville is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Makowski as the town's new Public Information Officer. Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Makowski moved to Charleston to study communications at Charleston Southern University. With his experience and passion for community engagement, including his tenure as Communications Manager for the Town of Kiawah Island, he is confident that he will be able to effectively communicate and promote the Town of Summerville's initiatives and events to our residents and visitors.

Makowski believes that being involved in the community is crucial for the growth and development of the town. "I am thrilled to be joining the Town of Summerville and to be working closely with the community,” said Makowski. "I am confident that with my experience, we will be able to take our communications and media relations to the next level."

Makowski is committed to maintaining an open line of communication with the local media. "I am excited to work with the local media to share all the positive happenings in our town with the community," said Makowski. " I look forward to working with residents and organizations to promote the Town's initiatives, and to build a stronger, more connected community together."

In his free time, Makowski enjoys trying new places to eat, sports (passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan), and spending time with his daughter Parker.
