Making Payments
Obligation to Pay
Once you have made a plea or have been found guilty or responsible for a violation, you have an obligation to pay your fines or restitution on the date of sentencing.
When you plead Guilty
or No Contest
to criminal violations charged against you, you must make full payment for all monies owed.
Payment Due Dates
All fines, fees, and restitution are due in full on the day of sentencing.
Any and all requests for any scheduled time payment (STP) must be requested and approved by the Judge on the date of trial.
Traffic Charges
Full payment is due on any traffic charge. Partial payments are not accepted.
Failure to make full payment on traffic charges may result in your driver’s license being suspended.
To be reinstated, you will be required to pay the full fine amount to Municipal Court and a reinstatement fee to the South Carolina Highway Department.
Criminal Charges
Full payment is due the day of sentencing.
Paying Online
The Town of Summerville accepts online payment for all Municipal Court fines.
Paying In Person
The Summerville Municipal Court Lobby is open for payments Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located at:

Payment may be made in the form of cash, money order/cashier’s check, and credit/debit card. If paying with coins, they must be rolled in tubular coin wrappers.
Money Order/Cashier’s Check
Make your money order/cashier’s check to the Summerville Municipal Court in the full amount due, and include the ticket/warrant number. Please provide your current address.
Personal or Business Checks
The Municipal Court will not accept personal checks or business checks. It will accept checks from attorneys from trust accounts making payments.
Credit or Debit Card
You may pay by credit/debit card online or in person. If paying in person, you will need to provide a picture ID. The name on the identification must be identical to the name on the card being used. Accepted forms of identification include:
- Driver’s License
- Passport
- State Identification Card
